CONCEPT QUESTION
How might create a mechanism in which players explore the boundaries of their morality, using those boundaries as a determinant of failure or success in the game.
THOUGHTS
How might we create a game that's kinetic and explorative within the spaces around us?
- Talking this out with my partner, we came to the common conclusion that the games that resonated with us the most were games that took place outside, with ample amounts of space, and required physical activity. Why? Because these games ultimately shaped how we saw and interacted with the space around us. We started to see these spaces in a new light. That's a key aspect in Transformative Play.
Transformative Play: Is the type of play where a certain aspect of a game or word or concept ends up changing how we see the world around us or changing an already existing set of rules.
Example 1.
Slang, there are a lot of slang words spoken in our everyday lives. The more that this is spoken and accepted the higher the chances are that this slang can be accepted and implemented into our dictionaries and language system.
Example 2.
Tetris. I LOVE this game. This is a game where you alter the shape of certain forms in order to fit them perfectly together. After playing this game religiously, you start to see average spaces around you differently. You start to see how things should be moved around and fit together in a different more cohesive way.
-My partner and I also want our users to experience this sort of moral dilemma. By encouraging them to cheat and lie in order to win the game, hopefully, they will reveal something within themselves that they didn't know. They might find that they have a knack for cheating or that they get a thrill out of lying.
How can cheating be a mechanism?

Questions?
1. What form will this game take?
2. If some people don't like to play 'Cards Against Humanity' how will we get them to play our game and not easily dismiss it?
3. How might we identify the players role?
