“This new generation don’t see sci-fi as sci-fi, they see it as a prototype for the future.” - Benjamin Males

This idea is WILD and also very true! More and more of the technology around us is matching the futuristic worlds that we watched in movies as kids. TwentyFour15 is one of many companies that is implementing tech into their fashion. Now people are wearing computers as glasses and phones as watches. I feel as though the blend between tech and fashion is not mentioned enough through media. With the technology available now such as API’s, we should start to see collections of workout clothing that understands and reacts to your bodies physical changes. Imagine hospital garments that are able to analyze and communicate to others the internal state of someone. Recently I have become aware of how we torture our feet due to the shoes we wear. Imagine a shoe that adjusts to the structure of your foot, always providing the support necessary for your arch. This could help prevent hip and back problems.

One halloween, I made an Iron Man suit out of cardboard and wood, and now it is wild to think that an actual Iron Man suite could be in the works as we speak!

Foondi Workshops:

Foondi is an African industrial design company targeted at developing affordable,high- tech products for emerging markets. These engineers are able to construct RFID and GPS safety tech for miners and coal workers. This sort of tech is necessary in the field of construction or mining, everyday women and men put their lives at risk. Knowing their vital signs and their whereabouts would reduce their chances of getting injured or worse.

What makes Foondi particularly awesome is how they invite people from all different backgrounds(engineering, medicine, design, computer science) to work together to create these products. This sort of collaboration is key when trying to create thoughtful, influential products.
